In this piece i've tried to depict the "Mabry Mill", a water mill located in the Blue Ridge in Virginia.
In this work i was not aiming to photorealism, instead i want it to convey a sense of calm and peace, a place surrounded with untouched nature.
I've used 3dsmax to model the scene, Brazil R/S for the render and Photoshop for color correction and layer compositing.The trees and the grass are realized without plugins using scatter objects.
